exuberance

Receiving

How have you cut off your money flows by deciding that _____ is how you receive money?

For example….

You may say, “I’m a waiter.  I make money waiting tables.”  Do you allow money to come in any other way?  Or is this the only way you can receive money?

This point of view leaves you blind to anywhere else that money could possibly enter.

How many decisions about who or what you are do you use to cut off receiving money?

Receiving

What is receiving anyway?  It’s not just about money.  It’s kind of about everything.

Really.

Receiving adoration.
Receiving joy.
Receiving gratitude.
Receive YOU.
Receiving judgment.  Yep, that’s right.  Judgment too.

If you’re unwilling to receive everything, good or bad….can you truly receive anything?

Your Desires

We all have them.  Things we would like to show up in our lives.  People we’d enjoy spending time with.  Places we’d love to visit or live.  Money we’d like to see in our bank account.

There are things we desire.  And by “things”…I do not mean things.

I just mean…we have desires.

Can you receive?

Are you willing to have ALL of life come to you with ease, joy and glory?  Are you willing to receive the good, the bad, the ugly, and anything in between?

What if you cannot receive anything you desire unless you are willing to receive everything?

How?

It can be quite simple.

If someone offers to buy your dinner, simply receive it…
If your neighbor shovels your snowy driveway, receive it…
If your friend betrays your trust, receive it…

Receive it all with ease and joy and glory!

I’ve mentioned it before, but it bears repeating:

Ten times in the morning, 10 times at night:
All of Life Comes to Me with Ease, Joy and Glory!

Just try it.  If it doesn’t work, set it on the shelf.  I have no point of view.  What do you have to lose?????

Much Gratitude,
Sarah

All of life comes to me with ease, joy and glory!

Earth

There is much talk around today…a lot…about “Save the Planet.”  People talk about recycling and “going green” and reusing.  What if that is not what will save the planet?  What if there is more required?

Destructive Forces

Can we all agree that some of the most destructive forces on Earth are forces such as:

Anger
Hatred
Judgment
Fear
Invalidation
Apathy
Resentment
…etc…

It’s not a complete list, but these are definitely on the list, correct?

What if…

What if these destructive forces, combined with others like them, are far more detrimental and destructive to the Earth than any kind of paper use or making plastic.  What if the vibrations of anger, apathy and resentment damage the Earth more than the annihilation of any rain forest?

Just a thought…

Generative Forces

If there are destructive forces, then there are also generative forces.  Some of those might look like:

Caring
Gratitude
Kindness
Joy
Appreciation
Questions
Ease
…etc…

Again, not a complete list, but you get the idea.

Generate Our Planet

What would it be like if we generated our planet, instead of destroying the planet?  Not only with recycling and such…not that those things are unimportant…but with what we be toward others around us, with our attitudes and actions.

The Key?

Is that the key to saving the planet?  Who knows?  But would it be amazing and magical if it were all that was required?

Are you willing to access kindness and joy and gratitude to save the planet?

What else is possible?

Much Gratitude,
Sarah

The Big, Sticky “It”

What do you find yourself doing when something isn’t working in your life?

It’s interesting how many people function from the same basic point of view when handling a problem or sticky situation.  It’s kind of like the “go-to” solution to any problem we’re faced with.  And yet, it rarely seems to work.  And it definitely doesn’t usually get us to our target.

Fix It

When something isn’t working in our lives, we tend to try and fix it.  We look at what we can do to make it better or make it work better.  We take this thing that isn’t working for us or doesn’t serve us and manipulate it to try to fit our aim in life.

We twist and contort ourselves to try and fix “it” until it approximates what we think it should be.  “It” can be anything from finances to relationships to our job or parenting.  “It” can show up in your life quite literally as anything that isn’t currently working for you.

And as I mentioned, it rarely gets us what we truly desire once it’s “fixed.”  What can even occur is that once we “fix” this “it,” we find that it’s still not quite right for what we require.  So, we set about fixing it again….and again….and again…..

Sound familiar?

A Different Possibility

What if instead of trying to fix “it” all the time, you simply asked something like…

What can I choose here that would give me a completely different result and possibility?

I know…crazy, right?

What if instead of trying to fix what isn’t working, you choose something else altogether?

What choice could I make here that would bring me on target for my life and living?

Will the answer show up immediately?  Maybe.  Maybe not.

And if you continue to ask these questions, you will over time begin to shift so that your choices will more closely approximate the life and living you truly desire to have.  Your daily actions will begin to make the shift.  Your weekly actions will bring you even closer.

Until one day…you wake up and are aware that your life is different and you are actually on target for living life.  And you may even one day have a major thought like, “I could do _____ to change my money flows.”  Then institute that idea and dynamically alter the trajectory of your life.

How cool is that?!

Go For It!

Go ahead!  Think about that thing you’ve been struggling with…that’s had you stumped and stuck…and ask those questions.  See what new and different ideas show up.  See what shifts occur.

Just see what happens!

Infinite gratitude,
Sarah

Which Are You?

In life there are mostly two types of people who show up….

Tiggers…

…and Eeyores

I always liked Eeyore!

It sounds odd, but his glum was kind of cute.  And it always felt a bit like he wasn’t really sad, he just pretended to be sad.

I really liked Eeyore’s heart.  He has a great heart!  His love and compassion are evident…his caring nature toward his friends.

I love Tigger!

He sings:

The wonderful thing about tiggers
Is tiggers are wonderful things!
Their tops are made out of rubber
Their bottoms are made out of springs!
They’re bouncy, trouncy, flouncy, pouncy
Fun, fun, fun, fun, fun!
But the most wonderful thing about tiggers is
I’m the only one!

Tigger is exuberant!  He drives Rabbit crazy with his bouncing.  He is FUN!

Which Are You??  Tigger?  Or Eeyore?

I suppose I’m a little of both.  I have the caring and kindness of Eeyore….but outside of that, I’m ALL Tigger!  I’m fun, fun, fun, fun, fun…and I’m the only one!

The Only One…

Yes.  I’m the only ME there is.  No one else is like me.  No one contributes what I can contribute.  No one chooses exactly what I choose.  I am ME and I’m the only ME there is!

How ‘Bout You??

I’d love to hear from you!  Are you Tigger or Eeyore?  Are you happy in your choosing or would you like a different choice?  Are you stuck on how to choose something else?  Talk to me!

Much Gratitude,
Sarah

We’re All Connected

“What is man without the beasts? If all the beasts were gone, man would die from a great loneliness of spirit. For whatever happens to the beasts, soon happens to man. All things are connected.” ~ Chief Dan George

I’ve explored this idea of connection for some time and have gained many new insights and awarenesses around these connections and what they can mean for us.

All things are connected.

This means that we are all connected.  We are connected to each other, to other living things and to God or the universe or whatever you choose to call that.  We are all connected.

If we are all connected, then the things that we do affect others.  The thoughts, feelings and emotions that we express can influence and affect those around us…and those around those around us…and so on.  Like a ripple on a pond.

Exclusion

I perceive exclusion as a sort of “killing” energy.  It’s not joy.  It’s not ease.  It’s not exuberant living.  It’s kind of the opposite of these things.

If we are all connected, can we really exclude anyone?  We may try, but can we?  What affect does exclusion have?

My Experience

There are often certain people in life that we wish to exclude.  We may not like the way they make us feel.  Maybe it’s the way they treat others that bothers us.  But for whatever reason, we would like to exclude them from our lives.

Seeing how we’re all connected, when we choose exclusion, we not only can exclude that individual, we exclude others as well.  When we cannot receive that individual for the being they are, then we essentially restrict our ability to receive from everyone.

My Invitation

I’d like to invite you to stop doing exclusion.  Allow for more receiving from everyone by eliminating exclusion from your daily activities.  When we are willing to receive from everyone and everything, we are able to receive more.

I’m working on doing this with my ex who I have been excluding a lot.  But if I’m not willing to be in allowance and to receive, then I am cutting off other areas of receiving as well.  So, I am “including” my ex (energetically) so that I can receive more from life as a whole.

**A Note**

This does not mean that you keep someone in your life who treats you like garbage all day and night.  You deserve more!  What I’m talking about here is more at an energetic level…an “unconscious” level.  You don’t have to spend time with that person, you don’t have to go into their universe…just don’t exclude them.  Allow the energy to flow through (not to) you.

Would you be willing to let go of the places where you are functioning from exclusion and allow yourself to receive?

In Gratitude,
Sarah

Lessons From A Puggle

I fostered a puggle the shelter named “Muffin” a couple of weeks ago.  What is a puggle, you ask?  It is a Pug-Beagle mix.  She came from a shelter in Iowa, so her true breeding is really a mystery, but Puggle was a good guess at what she might be.

This little ball of fur taught me quite a lot in the short week she was here and I thought it might be fun to share that with you today.

MUFFIN

“Muffin” is a ball of energy!  She was definitely not a good fit for a permanent member of our household, but we aren’t looking for a new member so that’s fine.  She would tear around the house at MAC 10, running and running and sometimes, literally, bouncing off the walls.  I was amazed at how energetic she is!

“Muffin” loves to be loved!  She would lick and lick anyone who would give her 10 seconds of their life.  She would relish in belly rubs and other petting.

Whenever “Muffin” went outside, she would run and run some more.  Even though the snow was deeper than she is tall, she would run.  She chased balls.  She chased my two labs.  She raced the neighbor’s dog up and down the fence over and over.

“Muffin” knows how to embody JOY.  She is the definition of exuberant living.  She does not care if I think she is crazy.  She does not care if the kids laugh at her.  She does not mind if the neighbors laugh.  She knows how to BE who she is created to be without worrying about what others might think of it.

What if we could all be “Muffin” for the day?

How much JOY could we experience?
How much LIGHT could we shine on our lives?
How happy might our INNER SELF be that we are choosing exuberance?

Would you be willing to let go of everything in your life that doesn’t allow your inner “Muffin” to emerge?

Much Gratitude,
Sarah

Be YOU…and Change the World

“You must be the change you wish to see in the world.” Mahatma Gandhi

I love this quote.  And I have a slightly different spin on it…given to me by my mentor, Gary Douglas.  Gary says, “Be you and change the world.”

Gandhi and Gary

They are similar in that they each ask us to embody something in order to effect change.  Gandhi asks us to embody the change we would like to see in the world, in my point of view.  So, an example of this might be…If we’d like to see more peace on this planet, then we must embody peace.  Right?  Makes sense.  Gary asks us to embody our true selves in order to effect change in the world.  In this regard, we must become the fullness of what we were created to be on this planet in order to effect the changes we desire to be.

And in my point of view, nature shows us this type of embodiment each and every day…all over the planet.

What Nature Teaches

The birds do not hide their feathers.
The horse does not minimize his gallop to conceal his power and grace.
The dog does not downplay his pure bliss in receiving a new toy.
The flowers and trees do not stiffen to stop the wind from swaying them.
The grass does not wilt to keep its greenery a secret.
The sun does not diminish its brightness to veil its glory.
The mountains do not suppress their majesty.

Instead, each of these displays their unique gift and beauty for all to see.   It knows that to BE what it was designed to be is what makes an impact on the world.  If the sun wished to hide its gift from all of us, how might that affect the world?  So, how might we affect the world if we BE what we are created to be.

The Lesson We Might Learn

If we choose, we can gain valuable insights here.  How often do we hide ourselves from the world?  How much of our true selves to we amputate in order to “fit in” with friends or family or co-workers?  Does this serve us?  Them?  The world?

We were each given unique talents and abilities by God, the universe, whatever you believe or don’t believe in.  But we each have something we bring to the table that no one else can offer.

Is That Wrong?

Does that seem crazy to even ask?

But we make it wrong!  We take these incredible talents, gifts and abilities and we basically say:  No.  That’s not right.  I can’t have that gift.  There’s something wrong with me because I’m not like everyone else.

How boring would this planet be if we were all the same?!?

What You Can Do

If you choose, you can begin today to change this!

Ask questions of yourself…What am I hiding that is really a gift?  What unique talents do I have?  Who am I really, deep down inside?  What would be fun for me?

You don’t have to have an answer to all those questions right away.  You may even come up with your own, completely different set of questions.  Either way, just start asking.  And then allow the space in your head for the answers to come to you.

Skip the Judgment

Don’t judge what you think your answer should be.  And don’t judge what answers come up.  Just allow whatever shows up to show up for you.

Then you can begin to be YOU!

Much Gratitude,
Sarah

The Image of YOU…The Image of JOY

As Michelangelo once said about sculpture: ‘The image is already in the marble, all I do is cut away everything that is not the image.’

The Image of You

What do you look like?  What is the image of you?  Not your physical appearance.  Not the clothes you wear.  Not the title you bear at work or in life.  But YOU…the real, deep down, inside YOU.

Do you even know what YOU looks like?  Many people don’t.  I’m still finding out, personally.  So, don’t judge yourself as wrong if you read this and think:  How the heck should I know? You are not alone!

JOY

Do you know that your innate nature is one of joy?  We often view joy as an emotion much like happiness or sadness or anger.  In my interesting point of view, joy is a state of being.  Happiness and anger can come and go as our circumstances change over time.  Joy is the essence of who we are.  It’s inside each of us.  We can choose joy in fabulous times of abundance.  We can choose joy in hardship and trying times.  But it’s always there.  We don’t have to be “happy” about our current circumstances, but we can certainly be joyful in all things.

Shaping the sculpture

Now, I am not an artist…well, not a sculptor or painter anyway.  I suppose I am an artist of a different sort.  But in reference to the quote above, if we desire to reach the image inside, we need only remove everything that is not the image.

If the image inside is JOY, then we only need to remove those things which are not joy!  That seems simple enough.

I said, “SIMPLE”…not easy.

Don’t get me wrong, it can be easy.  Or it can be rough.  I guess that’s mostly up to the artist.

The Artist

Each of us is the artist of our own sculpture.  We each remove things that are not our essence each day, each week, each year…to find the true US at the center of it all.

An artist does not often say, “My sculpture didn’t turn out the way I wanted because so-and-so called me names.”  But how often do we do that in our lives?

Take control of your sculpture now.  Become the artist.  Remove the things that are incongruent with your true self..the real YOU.  Choose JOY.
