How have you cut off your money flows by deciding that _____ is how you receive money?

For example….

You may say, “I’m a waiter.  I make money waiting tables.”  Do you allow money to come in any other way?  Or is this the only way you can receive money?

This point of view leaves you blind to anywhere else that money could possibly enter.

How many decisions about who or what you are do you use to cut off receiving money?

What is receiving anyway?  It’s not just about money.  It’s kind of about everything.

Receiving adoration.
Receiving joy.
Receiving gratitude.
Receive YOU.
Receiving judgment.  Yep, that’s right.  Judgment too.

If you’re unwilling to receive everything, good or bad….can you truly receive anything?

Your Desires

We all have them.  Things we would like to show up in our lives.  People we’d enjoy spending time with.  Places we’d love to visit or live.  Money we’d like to see in our bank account.

There are things we desire.  And by “things”…I do not mean things.

I just mean…we have desires.

Can you receive?

Are you willing to have ALL of life come to you with ease, joy and glory?  Are you willing to receive the good, the bad, the ugly, and anything in between?

What if you cannot receive anything you desire unless you are willing to receive everything?

It can be quite simple.

If someone offers to buy your dinner, simply receive it…
If your neighbor shovels your snowy driveway, receive it…
If your friend betrays your trust, receive it…

Receive it all with ease and joy and glory!

I’ve mentioned it before, but it bears repeating:

Ten times in the morning, 10 times at night:
All of Life Comes to Me with Ease, Joy and Glory!

Just try it.  If it doesn’t work, set it on the shelf.  I have no point of view.  What do you have to lose?????

Much Gratitude,

All of life comes to me with ease, joy and glory!

A Whole New Level

What if you could BE you on a whole new level??  Would you be willing to be that bold?

Are you willing to step into BEING in a whole new way?

What an adventure!

I am keenly aware that when I truly be me, when I step into all that is, when I show my true self to others, my life expands in a way I don’t know I can put into words.  I’ve experienced it.  And it’s wonderful.

And yet…

There are times when I hide who I really am from others.  And I play small and insignificant.  The other person doesn’t get to experience the totality of me.

It’s a lose, lose event.

Why do we do this?

We are here.  We are wonderful.  We are potent beyond measure.  We have unique talents and gifts that no one…NO ONE…else can bring to the world.  We are truly amazing.

And yet we hide this.  Why?

Fear.  Whatever that fear shows up as in your life.  However it looks.  THAT is what keeps us hiding ourselves.

If they knew the real me, they wouldn’t like me.
They’ll think I’m weird.
No one will ever embrace my uniqueness.
They can’t really “get” me.

Do you hear the lie in all of that?  It’s all a lie!

We buy it hook, line and sinker.

Would you like to know the real lie?

The real lie is that by hiding yourself, people will like you.  That in denying yourself, you are generating a life.

The truth is that when you reveal yourself in all of your weirdness and vulnerability, people will show up in a whole new and different way and embrace you like never before.

They will be grateful to know YOU…whoever YOU happens to be.

The Invitation

Start being you.

What would that look like?  Who would you be?  How might your life show up?

Much Gratitude,

All of Life Comes to Me with Ease, Joy and Glory!

There is much talk around today…a lot…about “Save the Planet.”  People talk about recycling and “going green” and reusing.  What if that is not what will save the planet?  What if there is more required?

Destructive Forces

Can we all agree that some of the most destructive forces on Earth are forces such as:

It’s not a complete list, but these are definitely on the list, correct?

What if…

What if these destructive forces, combined with others like them, are far more detrimental and destructive to the Earth than any kind of paper use or making plastic.  What if the vibrations of anger, apathy and resentment damage the Earth more than the annihilation of any rain forest?

Just a thought…

Generative Forces

If there are destructive forces, then there are also generative forces.  Some of those might look like:

Again, not a complete list, but you get the idea.

Generate Our Planet

What would it be like if we generated our planet, instead of destroying the planet?  Not only with recycling and such…not that those things are unimportant…but with what we be toward others around us, with our attitudes and actions.

The Key?

Is that the key to saving the planet?  Who knows?  But would it be amazing and magical if it were all that was required?

Are you willing to access kindness and joy and gratitude to save the planet?

What else is possible?

Much Gratitude,

All of Life Comes to Me with Ease, Joy and Glory!

Hiding Out

I had an interesting conversation once with a young man.  He explained to me that the reason he chose his career was his fear of “the real world.”

In high school, he became aware that he was almost an adult and so began to work to excel in sports so he could ha

ve a scholarship to buy him time in his avoidance of “the real world.”

Then in college, he worked to avoid the real world by pursuing professional athletics.

As a professional athlete, his primary drive was his fear of having to enter the real w

orld, get a real job….perhaps live a real life (that part is my point of view).

Living Life

We each have a life to live.  We have things that we are here to learn or achieve or complete.  We are here to live.

What’s th

e point otherwise?  Why even be here if we are not living life?!!

Hiding Out

In what ways are you hiding out?

What are you choosing in order to hide out or avoid living life?

We all do it on some level.  We make choices, turn them into “have to’s” so we can use them as excuses for avoiding living.

Personal Confession

I work in a barn about 35 miles from my home.  I adore the place.  The barn owner has been great.  I adore working in barns, being around horses, communing with nature and such.

I’ve told myself that I “have to” work there because I need the money.  (Note:  There is a fear attached here.)

The reality is (when I look past the fear) that the money I get working there probably just covers my gas getting there and back.

What would be generative for me?  Well, maybe having more clients?  A local job?  Stay home & not use the gas?  There are infinite possibilities!

And I use it as an excuse to hide out.  It’s safe.  It’s comfortable.  It’s familiar.  Right?

Why do I do it?  It’s clearly not logical.

It’s not really real.  And we are great at making it very real.  We make it more real than living!

Fear of being rejected by friends and family.
Fear of passing others up.
Fear of judgment.
Fear of the unknown or uncertainty.

We make it so much more real than what actually is!

Stop letting fear of living rule your life!  Get out there and make the choices that actually contribute to your life and living!  If the life you are currently living is based on fear of the real world, get out there into the real world!

It’s fun!

It’s generative and rewarding!

The real world ROCKS!

Much Gratitude,

All of Life Comes to Me with Ease, Joy and Glory!

Which Are You?

In life there are mostly two types of people who show up….

…and Eeyores

I always liked Eeyore!

It sounds odd, but his glum was kind of cute.  And it always felt a bit like he wasn’t really sad, he just pretended to be sad.

I really liked Eeyore’s heart.  He has a great heart!  His love and compassion are evident…his caring nature toward his friends.

I love Tigger!

He sings:

The wonderful thing about tiggers
Is tiggers are wonderful things!
Their tops are made out of rubber
Their bottoms are made out of springs!
They’re bouncy, trouncy, flouncy, pouncy
Fun, fun, fun, fun, fun!
But the most wonderful thing about tiggers is
I’m the only one!

Tigger is exuberant!  He drives Rabbit crazy with his bouncing.  He is FUN!

Which Are You??  Tigger?  Or Eeyore?

I suppose I’m a little of both.  I have the caring and kindness of Eeyore….but outside of that, I’m ALL Tigger!  I’m fun, fun, fun, fun, fun…and I’m the only one!

The Only One…

Yes.  I’m the only ME there is.  No one else is like me.  No one contributes what I can contribute.  No one chooses exactly what I choose.  I am ME and I’m the only ME there is!

How ‘Bout You??

I’d love to hear from you!  Are you Tigger or Eeyore?  Are you happy in your choosing or would you like a different choice?  Are you stuck on how to choose something else?  Talk to me!

Much Gratitude,

All of Life Comes to Me with Ease, Joy and Glory!

You are all kinds of Awesomeness!!!

You’re not as f****d up as you think you are!

You’re wonderful and amazing and magical and all kinds of awesomeness!!  Really.  I mean it.

Here’s a video for you full of people who thought they were screwed up…people who were told they weren’t good enough…people who were told they were screwed up….

Were they???

You be the judge.

Happiness Quotient

You’ve all likely heard about the Intelligence Quotient, or IQ.  IQ is a score derived from one of several different standardized tests designed to assess intelligence.  And if you really desire to learn more about IQ, you can go here:  Wikipedia.

And while many people believe that your IQ is very important in life, I’d like to offer a different possibility.

Happiness Quotient

If there were a series of standardized tests to assess happiness, or joy, what would your HQ score be?

Probably not something you’ve ever even thought about, right?

Well, let’s think about it a bit.  What is your “happiness quotient” or what would it be if there were a test?  Would it be high?  Or would it be average?

Be honest.  You’re not answering me here…you’re answering yourself, so please be honest with yourself.

Happiness Can Change

Your HQ might change a bit from day-to-day, depending on how each day goes.  You may have a day of let’s say 100HQ and a day of 45HQ.  Overall, though, there should be a trend.  Overall, you should see a predominant set of numbers, either on the high side or the low side.

Maybe Joy Would Be Better Here

Maybe it would be better to use a Joy Quotient?  Since joy is what we are.  And happiness ebbs and flows with our circumstances.  But joy is pretty constant…true joy.

Either way…

I’d like to invite you to examine your HQ or JQ, whichever you prefer.  Take an honest look at your daily life and determine whether you’re an all-around “happy person” or whether you might desire to do some things to raise your HQ.

We’ll examine how this might be important a little more in-depth.

Much Gratitude,

Be YOU…and Change the World

“You must be the change you wish to see in the world.” Mahatma Gandhi

I love this quote.  And I have a slightly different spin on it…given to me by my mentor, Gary Douglas.  Gary says, “Be you and change the world.”

Gandhi and Gary

They are similar in that they each ask us to embody something in order to effect change.  Gandhi asks us to embody the change we would like to see in the world, in my point of view.  So, an example of this might be…If we’d like to see more peace on this planet, then we must embody peace.  Right?  Makes sense.  Gary asks us to embody our true selves in order to effect change in the world.  In this regard, we must become the fullness of what we were created to be on this planet in order to effect the changes we desire to be.

And in my point of view, nature shows us this type of embodiment each and every day…all over the planet.

What Nature Teaches

The birds do not hide their feathers.
The horse does not minimize his gallop to conceal his power and grace.
The dog does not downplay his pure bliss in receiving a new toy.
The flowers and trees do not stiffen to stop the wind from swaying them.
The grass does not wilt to keep its greenery a secret.
The sun does not diminish its brightness to veil its glory.
The mountains do not suppress their majesty.

Instead, each of these displays their unique gift and beauty for all to see.   It knows that to BE what it was designed to be is what makes an impact on the world.  If the sun wished to hide its gift from all of us, how might that affect the world?  So, how might we affect the world if we BE what we are created to be.

The Lesson We Might Learn

If we choose, we can gain valuable insights here.  How often do we hide ourselves from the world?  How much of our true selves to we amputate in order to “fit in” with friends or family or co-workers?  Does this serve us?  Them?  The world?

We were each given unique talents and abilities by God, the universe, whatever you believe or don’t believe in.  But we each have something we bring to the table that no one else can offer.

Is That Wrong?

Does that seem crazy to even ask?

But we make it wrong!  We take these incredible talents, gifts and abilities and we basically say:  No.  That’s not right.  I can’t have that gift.  There’s something wrong with me because I’m not like everyone else.

How boring would this planet be if we were all the same?!?

What You Can Do

If you choose, you can begin today to change this!

Ask questions of yourself…What am I hiding that is really a gift?  What unique talents do I have?  Who am I really, deep down inside?  What would be fun for me?

You don’t have to have an answer to all those questions right away.  You may even come up with your own, completely different set of questions.  Either way, just start asking.  And then allow the space in your head for the answers to come to you.

Skip the Judgment

Don’t judge what you think your answer should be.  And don’t judge what answers come up.  Just allow whatever shows up to show up for you.

Then you can begin to be YOU!

Much Gratitude,

The Image of YOU…The Image of JOY

As Michelangelo once said about sculpture: ‘The image is already in the marble, all I do is cut away everything that is not the image.’

The Image of You

What do you look like?  What is the image of you?  Not your physical appearance.  Not the clothes you wear.  Not the title you bear at work or in life.  But YOU…the real, deep down, inside YOU.

Do you even know what YOU looks like?  Many people don’t.  I’m still finding out, personally.  So, don’t judge yourself as wrong if you read this and think:  How the heck should I know? You are not alone!

Do you know that your innate nature is one of joy?  We often view joy as an emotion much like happiness or sadness or anger.  In my interesting point of view, joy is a state of being.  Happiness and anger can come and go as our circumstances change over time.  Joy is the essence of who we are.  It’s inside each of us.  We can choose joy in fabulous times of abundance.  We can choose joy in hardship and trying times.  But it’s always there.  We don’t have to be “happy” about our current circumstances, but we can certainly be joyful in all things.

Shaping the sculpture

Now, I am not an artist…well, not a sculptor or painter anyway.  I suppose I am an artist of a different sort.  But in reference to the quote above, if we desire to reach the image inside, we need only remove everything that is not the image.

If the image inside is JOY, then we only need to remove those things which are not joy!  That seems simple enough.

I said, “SIMPLE”…not easy.

Don’t get me wrong, it can be easy.  Or it can be rough.  I guess that’s mostly up to the artist.

The Artist

Each of us is the artist of our own sculpture.  We each remove things that are not our essence each day, each week, each year…to find the true US at the center of it all.

An artist does not often say, “My sculpture didn’t turn out the way I wanted because so-and-so called me names.”  But how often do we do that in our lives?

Take control of your sculpture now.  Become the artist.  Remove the things that are incongruent with your true self..the real YOU.  Choose JOY.
